What does it mean when you can't see the big picture for all of the variables in the way?
I am so detail oriented that I have trouble wading through all of them to see the absolute. I also get so easily frustrated with surface talk and surface chatter because it's all just a Dance. Social chitchat and nicities bore me to death and make me frustrated to no end. I am constantly searching for the" truth" but can't see the forest for all the trees. How does one deal with this?

realize that you don't have to see the spider to believe the web exist...
go look at a spider web now and see what i mean...
maybe its a gender thing. women are meticulous and men are too general. we see big pix and women see the important small ones. so we have to train our minds to ensure that we dont go to the extremes. its tough as when u are engross in something u forget and dont realize. time is factor that can help us realize that we are dwelling too much time on the small thingys. so its training our brains to differentiate it. try it and be always conscious

The best way I found to find the truth is to take a step back and ask a simple question. "in the overall scheme of life does this matter?" I guess in essence what matters to you. Ask questions of others and don't just stick to a few people you know develop other sources of information besides American. I hate to say it it a majority of the time our information sources are corrupted and slanted. International sources are much better as they give you additional views and sources. To me being a world citizen is more important than a national one. Concern for the globe is much more well informed and responsible.
It's not something to see "through," each tree has a bit of the forest in it. You cannot see the forest without the trees! You won't find the naked truth out there, that's the trick and it requires wisdom. Your frustration with the Dance, reveals that you are not dancing. You must embody truth to know it, and accept your own "trees."
Even monks and nuns are people too, although they commit their lives to the absolute, this does not mean they don't appreciate the details of life, rather that they truly accept and wonder in them.
Everyone gets caught up from time to time, we are all subjective.
