Why do you have to eat when you don't feel hungry?
Answer:
mostly i think it is to create a habitual time association...teach your body a rythum..so you arent interrupted by something like that when there are acheavable objectives - [like one requireing other folks assistance...ya know.] if you start some project and your buddys are all round to help ya out and you gotta go get a dam sanwich cause you pooped of eating when they did... it's a social as well as personal trait that syncronises us with one another.
another reason might have to do with who ever is prepareing a meal...they resent feeding individually..it's an inconvienant thing for them..if they care enough to cook, and you are so rude as to refuse to eat when its ready, and then later expect them to pander to your rudeness...it would tend to irritate them.

Hi.
I think it started out as a family tradition.
Everyone sat down to breakfast, lunch and dinner. It was a time for the whole family to be together to eat and discuss what they had planned for the day or what happened during the day.
The farmers took a break at lunch time to eat, have a drink then back to work. School children eat at lunch time.
As we progressed into the work field, labor laws came into play, you work so many hours then have a break or lunch.
hour.
Also people taking medicines, that say "do not take on an empty stomach", will eat something whether they are hungry or not.
People trying to loose weight are told to eat many small meals to boost
their metabolism.
It is my feeling that eating whether we are hungry or not can be attributed to all of the above things. Hope this in some small way answers your question.
Thank you.
