Are you crazy?! Pres. Bush doesn't need anyone else agreeing with him, or even telling him he's right. If anything, he needs an impeachment article slapped against him to show how much we think he's wrong!
You should watch the funny movie "The President's Analyst" and lighten up.
Mr. Bush certainly didn't use a psychologist to convince him that he was making the right decisions.
To me, politics is not about making the right decisions to help the country. It is about making the right decisions that will help one get re-elected or to keep ones political party in power.
That is why I believe that we will start to see significant progress toward resolving the Iraqi situation in the coming months. The majority of the American people feel that we have given the Iraqis a unique opportunity to become a free and productive member of the global community. That window of opportunity is quickly closing.
The Republicans now realize that. They will start to defect quickly as the months go by.
Mr. Bush has decided to stick to his original goals in Iraq and must now stay the course. Too many brave men and women have died under his watch. He cannot change direction now. He is trapped in a psychological conundrum from which he cannot escape. The soldiers who sacrificed their lives for their country must be honored. Their families have been promised that their sons and daughters did not die in vain.
But, the rest of the country can and will decide that we accomplished what we could in Iraq and now must move on.
