What is confidence intervel?
Answer:
A range of values within a statistical percentage that the result is highly likely to fall within.
If your alpha is, 0.05, and your confidence interval is between 52 - 60, and you're measure age and onset of dementia,
it means that 95% (1 - 0.05) of the time, a person between 52 to 60 years of age is likely to start showing signs of dementia.
Its called confidence interval because you can say this statement with 95% confidence of the result between a particular range.

Also if you want to check if the results of an experiment is not due to chance and is because of your experiment itself, you'd want the statistical percentage of your confidence interval to be alpha itself (5%).
This means the results are within the confidence interval 5% due to chance (the lesser the value the better, so that you can say that 95% of the explanation of the results is due to your experiment conditions)
