Do you think its bad to like nice stuff, like nice hotels, etc., does it make you shallow, empty?

I don't think it does personally, if you strive to be the best person you can be to both yourself and other people...but some people think its (sigh) I can't spell it...boozhy...boogie...Booshe?
Your valued opinion please :)
Have a great one!

Answer:
What makes someone shallow or empty is putting those things before people, (being selfish or treating people badly). You can like nice things and strive to be the best that you can be in life, and be a compassionate, giving person at the same time. Your life will be much fuller that way.
No, dear. If you like them and can afford to. Nothing wrong with that. Good enough, yes?
nothing wrong with liking nice stuff, however you shouldnt be driven by such things after all they are just things.
I have very expensive tastes. And I wasnt born rich either. I grew up really poor. And now that I can afford nice things, I try to have them. There is nothing wrong with having nice things.
Everyone like 'nice' things, it's just a matter of realizing what's realistic and what's just wishful thinking.
Hey Cass. Im gona tell ya what i think, but more important question is what you think about it? Here if you like nice things and you can afford it, why not? If you excel at some things, good for you, your always suppose to be the best you can be or you'll only let yourself down. I myself have a good heart and when a friend gets a new car or something im not jealous,or envious im proud cause i think people should reward theirselfs for hard work. Some people cant tolerate you one-upping-them [so called]. But in the long run dont worry about them. Its your money,,do what makes you happy most of the time that is the rewarding thing,,,a good old pat on the back for job good done! Enjoy-life's too short!! Go blow some money and
Godspeed..
It depends on what else is going on in one's life.

If "nice things" are the only thing that is pursued, then yes. However, many wealthy people who enjoy such things are also dedicated to service and compassionate projects. (this is starting to sound like a Miss America Pageant.)

Anyway, I think nice things are ok if you are also helping the poor and taking care of the sick.
I really would not think it's being shallow unless one believes that is how life is and they don't deserve anything less and all they care about is having such an extravagant lifestyle. Then it's like wow.
If you have worked hard to get where you are and can afford that life and appreciate it then hell!, you've earned it!
