Love-full or love-less?
I viewed her as another mother to me; I became so attached to her. She is my former teacher. She willingly gave me her email address and offered me tons of advice. She obviously had a special liking towards me because she told me that I am a true Southern Belle. That was sweet; she obviously saw something special in me. I guess that when she gave me that advice, I became attached to her in a filial way. I love her very much and I have told her that plenty of times, but she has never verbally replied the same. She told me to keep in touch, but I don't want to be the one who always has to contact her just to stay in touch! That can make me so weary; I feel that eventually I may just give up. Every now and then I would like to have her email me first just to show me that I was on her heart. I wonder if I were to never contact her again would that move her to contact me? Probably not, that is so discouraging. I'm just trying to figure out if I am the only one who is full of love.
Answer:
I disagree with the above post, Some people just love to help and alot of teachers like specifically one student for a variaty of reasons, but realise that she has many other students and she probably can't contact them all, also you are young now but ten years from now it can't be the same as now you know, she has younger kids to care for,
I mean think about it as your real mother, you live with them all the time when you are young then leave them and as you grow older you become less dependent on their advice,
On the other hand, nothing is nicer when a teacher is contacted by his old students and to make him or her appreciated.
My advice is not stop contacting her but do it like once every few month, somehting like an email or so, just tell her the big news in your life and thank her for all what she did to you, and I am sure that she did to several other people so forgive her if she can't call them all.
she's just bored and likes to tell people what to do.
she may be extra cautious. with all the scadulous behavior of teachers sleeping with students etc, she may just be weary to go to deep into a friendship with you.
