Why do people keep pushing the crosswalk button over and over again?
Answer:
Because action is better than inaction, and pushing buttons is fun.
Because they're impatient dicks and they need to be shot, or they're five years old and think that continually pushing something will make it happen faster.

What if you didn't push hard enough?
Or the computer forgot that you had pushed it?
Most people waiting to cross are in a hurry to do so.

what about those who push the button just for the hell of it and keep walking on the same side?!? those are really freaks
people keep pushing the button because they think it will detect their impatience and turn green faster. 4 real!
to make sure the crosswalk button function properly and through this action the people feel that they can cross the road fastly.. but in psychology we say about that incident as the people always not patient in life..
I think that they are wondering if it is working properly since it is taking so long to activate. I visit a business every day about 3:30 PM and I enter at their back door. I have to push the door bell to get let in. That bell has a mind of its own and sometimes works and sometimes does not. The tricky part is that I cannot hear it from outside so I don't know if it is working or not when I push it. I have learned (classical conditioning) to push the bell over and over, and the more I push it the greater my chances are of getting it to work. The same thing happens when people wait for elevators. Perhaps they have amnesia or have overdosed on stupid pills.
