most of the positions in the psychology field are teaching and research. To do anything more practical in the field you'd need at least a master's degree or a phd in medicine. My best friend earned her master's in psych and went to work as a hair dresser. I got my bachelor's in social work and was able to stay in my chosen field in counseling and working with people in crisis, etc. with my master's in social work I can do much more while staying in my field than my friend can.
