Is the fear of change greater than the fear of failure and if so does this stop people from living life large?
Answer:
I will argue that fear of change has a greater power over us because we are less aware of it as a fear.
Fear of failure tends to be more consciously recognized. This makes it easier for us to do something (or do nothing) about on a conscious level.
We tend to be less conscious of our fear of change, so we do not recognize that our behavior or reactions are due to fear of change. The less you are conscious about something, the less you can control it in everyday life. Yes, this will affect how you live.
This is a great question, I honestly don't know the answer but love to read on what others have to say!
I'm not sure that it's the fear of failure that makes it hard for people to change their lives, I think it's the fear of the unknown. I think that even as bad as somethings get for people in a weird way they are more comfortable with what they know, than they are with what might be and that's what keeps people from doing things that might make their lives better. There are people who are afraid of success that they won't be able to live up to the expectations that being successful might raise. I think that the main reason that people don't live large as you put it, is because that would cause them to have to alter they way that they think and the way that they live and what happens if it doesn't work out the way that they wanted?? Where would they be left than?
For some people change is failure and vice verse,
Lack of knowledge keeps people from living life large also laziness, and lack of faith in ones self
We fear change because of a fear of failure. A very broad example would go something like this:
My life is going great. If I change something(like get married, change careers), I could fail at it, hence I am nervous about the change.
Now if I implement a change where there is no doubt that my quality of life will be the same or better, I'm not going to be nevous or fearful of it in the least.
