Answer:
You've been at your dads whisky again.
I agree with your blind man observation.
I don't know if the blind man can see things more clearly than others, but he can probably hear a hell of alot better. As for the delirious or retarded person seeing things more truly than others', I wouldn't want to find out behind the wheel of a car. Finally, as for the drunk man- I have to agree with you. I got so drunk one night that I saw three of my wife and wound up in the psych ward for three days.
If you wanted to keep this simple and more confined to a psychological sense; then yes the bind man would in fact be the only one to see things clearly. not being able to view the world in it's entirety would leave him without a sense of bias or influence.
if we wanted to be more difficult however we could say that he would or could be bitter, and that the things he sees would be prejudice against those of us who could see.
I'd like to think that someone lacking in one of the five senses would be stronger in another, and some how disconnected from all the chaos we are attached to. And so maybe infact the blind, or deaf man, would be able to see things more clearly.
I like this question..kudos
A blind man if he has the disability from birth does not have the limitation on imagination which comes with looking at things in reality...
Actually that makes the blind man more imaginative ... :)
I don't agree. While he must rely on his other senses to determine what's going on, this doesn't make him any wiser than anyone else. In fact, being blind is a distinct disadvantage since he is unable to see body language which can convey more clearly what a person is feeling.
The drunk man might see DT's but the fact that he is drunk indicates to me that he isn't too bright & doesn't know how to hold his liquor. If he thinks he has wisdom then he is deluding himself; brains don't function well marinated in alcohol.
Re the mentally retarded individual. Depending upon the degree of retardation, I would say that the retarded could be more innocent than most but I don't see that they can tell the difference between 'good' people and 'bad' people anymore than anyone else. In fact, I would say that they would be more easily led.
Sorry, I don't agree with you at all.
And a person going through depression has a more realistic and accurate point of view! That's how it is. Wisdom is all about knowing you know nothing. When I used to do drugs, I used to think that drugs made me smarter. I think that what I meant by that is that I could see many more perspectives than people who didn't do drugs.
The thing is: when you think you're all that, when you think you know everything there is to know, you lose degree angles. You focus on what you know instead of what there is left to learn... and there always is something left to learn!
Keep your mind open, always. Try to see things from the others perspectives. The simple minded are. So we should be.
