What is the proper, scientific term for when you are desperately?

trying to remember something that you know you know but it just won't come to mind?

Answer:
its called tip of the tongue phenomenon this is the proper scientific name despite not sounding very scientific. If you want me to explain the theory I can but it's rather unexciting.Never heard of or can find journals on temporary specific amnesia
Oh, I can't remember
Sounds like a mental block. I'm sure there's a latin name or something more scientific.
We call it a 'senior moment', otherwise it's 'absent-mindedness'. To young people it's just a lapse, to the elderly it's a fact of their lives.
I dont know the scientific term but i always say its on the tip of my tongue.
Temporary specific amnesia.
