Is psychology a science discipline?
Answer:
Some psychology departments are listed under a school's "Natural Science" grouping while other departments are listed under a school's "Social Science" grouping.
It depends largely on the focus of the particular department. If a school places more emphasis on neuropsychology and/or neurobiology, then it is more likely to be listed as a natural science but if the focus is more on social or interpersonal psychology, it would be classified as a social science.
All research currently conducted in psychology research departments is performed in line with strict scientific research principles.
I am not qualified in any way to answer this question, however psychology has always fascinated me, especially criminal psychology. My opinion is not really. I am sure there are aspects of it that are; like how the brain functions or how to learn to be a profiler. But common sense says that psychology has alot more to do with the process of the mind and how it deals with outside elements than the elements of science.
