I think BAD NEWS is like a train wreck, "you know you shouldn't watch but you just can't help it..."
well coz bad news always brings a sense of anxirty and that brings in some thrill..
It's habit of animals to be alert to danger - it stirs the adrenaline making us feel alive.
There is always the pleasurable sensation of schadenfreude, that comes with thinking "I'm alright Jack - pull up the ladder".
