How similar are love and obsession? Is there a difference?

well everyone has their views as to what love is... To me love and obsession are complete opposites. love is accepting yourself and the person for who they are, no matter their past or indifferences. Its knowing when to let go and when to hold on.Obsession is holding on tightly and I don't think if you're obsessed with somone that you can ever be with the other person. to me it doesn't work that way. Obsession in my view is a control issue as well. and control and love can never be together.

when you fall in love and they don't want you and you can't stop going there and trying to get them that is an obcession.
You only become a stalker when that person doesn't want you to stalk them.
For healthy people, love is the joining of two functional, happy, independent adults who have mutual respect and affection. I think the obsession line becomes crossed when one person begins to abandon their own interests and friends and only wants to be with their significant other. Not allowing the other person the time and space to have their own circle of friends is also a bad sign. People in love are happy to share time with the other person, and also maintain their own life and interests. When one person gets angry about the other ones independence, or starts getting paranoid about imaginary things their mate might be up to, it's time to really stop and examine whether this is healthy or not.
Like the poets say; to love another person is to see the face of God. It's an awesome feeling to share with someone, as long as it doesn't cross the line.
this is a good question>> i asked to myself this when i was fall in love of my last girl friend and i felt to love her a lot .
all days i was with her ,thinking in her any moment, i could give my life for her,it was nothing more important that her..
at the end i leave her to came this country taking care of myself it was hard but i separete of her..
in conclusion i realize that sometimes i acted with obsession
and sometimes with love..
the difference is that love is to love another person feeling fine even if this is ausent...and obsession is a worry or sufering over and over for another person!!
