Help with an obsession?

I'm not really sure if I understand.
If I'm right, and you mean that someone else is obsessed, then obviously you've noticed and you're willing to help them out a little bit. What you should do is take them away from the thing they obsess over. It will be really hard at first, but eventually they will be able to deal with it.
However, if it's something like drugs, alcohol, or a sexual addiction, I think professional help would be best.

Simply associate that obsession with something negative. For example, if you liked smoking and someone really close to you died of lung cancer then you would most likely stop because everytime you smoke it would bring up horrible memories.
