Want to stop Feeling burned out and stressed out?

Its like my life the past few months have been so hectic. First off, I relocated about an hour away from where I was before to be closer to my Girlfriend(I'm in my mid 20's), Which is great but at the same time its kinda caused friction between me and my parents. I know since I've been out on my own they haven't liked some of the decsions I've made.
The shift I'm on at work is starting to get to me becuase, for one thing I used to live 15 minutes now I live 45 minutes and my shift is 6am-4pm(4 10's) which means I gotta get up at 4:15am. Also, the amount of favortism and know it alls on the shift has been making me want to avoid work and its pissing me off. I think I'm gonna bid off the shift soon.

Also theres been alot of drama in my gf's life, shes had to grandparents pass away within 2 weeks of each other. It always seems like theres some kind of drama. Why can't things just slow down?

Its like I never have much time to myself. I feel like I need a new direction.

Here's one of my favorite quotes:

"For a long time it has seemed to me that life was about to begin; Real life. But there was always some obstacle in the way, something to be got through first, some unfinished business, time still to be served, a debt to be paid. Then life would begin. At last it dawned on me that these obstacles were my life."

Sounds like you've got a lot going on. When I was your age about 20 years back, this quote helped me to deal with some of the feelings you're dealing with. Sometimes counseling can help to sift this sort of thing through. It is more helpful than many people imagine, and I think smarter people use it earlier on rather than feeling like life has to be a wreck before they'd consider it. Part of what a counselor could help you do is figure out what priorities YOU want to set. Maybe you're the sort of guy that needs a little more down time / time to reflect. It can be really nice to have someone working with you, on your behalf to figure out how to get more of what you want out of life.

Also, whether with a counselor or on your own, learning some ways to manage stress can be incredibly helpful. Learning how to do diaphragmatic breathing to turn down the stress is one of the tools I wished I learned much earlier in life. I use it all the time now. Also there are ways to deal with stressful thoughts that can lower the stress level like a dimmer switch on a light.

I see by your info that you may be lacking compassion and could benefit from learning what drama really is. Drama is an action on the part of people that choose to make things appear much worse than they need to be and always has an element in it that is lacking positivity and realness/acceptance- that is chaos(drama that is self-inflicted by negative choice). An example of this is thinking everything in other's lives happen to just to bother you in an environment that requires compassion for others.

Death, however, is a perfect example of final and loss is very real not an act. It represents the end of life and the beginning of a legacy .which we will all leave good or bad. You are lacking compassion for the feelings of loss within others and there is a natural consequence for that - it's self-inflicted drama (stress). Not such a good idea if you choose to leave a good legacy yourself.

People will not stop dying, talking, being concerned, living, going thru trials, etc - life will never be perfectly arranged for you to be untested. It is those who don't deal with or accept the realness of looking outside their own box that circulate the most drama and most of those people are in the mindset that doesn't include acceptance of the parts of life that is and was rationally acceptable. So, they waste their life looking for perfection and never achieve acceptance in situations that most would accept.
