Why Do We Judge One Another When We Ourselves Are Not Perfect?

I feel we judge others because we want to make ourselves seem like better people. And the only way to achieve that is to put others down. What are your opinions?

Answer:
Obviously from the answers you've received, so far, there are many persons that agree with your concept of feeling better about ourselves.

Many, many, many people do just that.

I can no longer do this because my religion teaches that if you judge people, you're going to be judged even harsher than you have judged. I have found that not having to judge people has pretty much taken a burden off of me. It's cool. Life is lighter, I can laugh more, I have more time to do this.

And, I have found that my interactions with people, have improved. That's not to say that you can throw away all reservations, but you do spend much less time thinking negative thoughts of others, just to make you feel better about you!
People are just lame like that, I agree, we should look at ourselves before insisting on the perfection of others, we are so unforgiving.
i agree-we do it to make ourselves feel better although some people truly think they are better than everyone else
I think you can do better in FunQA.com. You are not as perfect as me Star.
Yeah is true maybe is because people like the attention sometimes that could happen between families too.
I think people judge because they are insecure. For example, someone may say you have bad hair because they don't like their's (that's a complete example because I have no idea how your hair looks). I think thats probably why
i agree with you, you answered your own question perfectly...on of my favorite sayings is...show me someone that is perfect, and ill show you someone that doesnt do anything... is that true or what?..its nice to be human aint it? lol
Your right, we do judge others because we want to seem like better people, when in reality we judge others because we see our own faults. Now if it were in regards to norms that were made laws, then that's a different story, unless this norm is ridiculously outdated or to put simply "useless."
