How do you become committed to what you want to achieve?

I have so many plans that I want to do, but the thing with me is that I lack off alot, and give up easily. Do you guys know of anything that can get me or anyone else commited to what they want to achieve? I mean, for example, commited to finishing this course in this period of time. Or memorizing this in this period of time, and etc.

Thanks

Answer:
You have to want it, get rid of your distractions. I haven't seen my friends in a week or more, ON PURPOSE! I quit smoking 5 days ago, my goal was to get my energy back so I could workout like old times. Now I'm hardcore & lovin' it!

Sometimes you gonna accomplish another goal to bring your mood up and get in the positive ZONE, then you can blast your next goal out of the water!

I wish you luck! Seriously!
Focus!
I have the same problem so I am hoping my answer will make me think of ways around this too. Maybe write a list of things to achieve - small steps first, and keep reading it. Put a list behind a photo-frame and go back to it in a month or even a year to see if you have done any of the things, to get back on track if you forget how important these things are to you. Get into daily habits that help achieve your goals and stay positive. I once heard a quote that was anything worth doing is worth doing slowly, which I take as tongue in cheek, but it makes it easy not to get impatient and give up on things. Hope that helps us both.-)
Do one thing and do it well. With everything take it to the Lord in prayer so His strength, not yours, will see you through.
motivating yourself can be a very difficult thing to do. basically you have to decide how important something is to you. if necessary find the time of day that you have the most energy(for some people that's during the middle of the night) then mamke sure that you have everything you need to complete the job if it's a writing assignment. if it isn't a paper then you need to break things down into smaller less frightening sizes to work on. the problem with most people that keeps them from doing what must be achieved is that they look at the whole picture of what must be accomplished and they frighten themselves. once you get overwhelmed you have already lost. so by breaking things down to a more managed size it makes it easier to work on. that's true no matter what you have to do in life. so, take a deep breathe and relax and do what you know you have to do. if possible take frequent breaks to keep your mind clear and your body relaxed. hope this answers your question.
