Online influence?

Nowadays teenagers are increasingly addicted to online chat. It has become a habitual activity for most. how much impact does this have on them? Imagine being exposed to vile and negative chat contacts almost daily.

Answer:
Ah yes, finally a question that is worthy of my expertise.

I truly understand the vile and negative chat influences online these days. I have had the unfortunate experience of encountering some of the most vile human beings who were able to login to Yahoo. I can honestly say that it is a good thing that I met these people after the age of 18. Had I met them during my more formative years, I don't know what might have happened to poor little me.

Allow me to explain...

As you can see, I am highly mature and exquisitely educated. I am not easy prey for online manipulators and vile human beings. However they tend to flock towards me as if I were wearing a sign. This haunts me daily as to the reason why, however I try to be mature and overlook these things.

If I had a teenage boy living in the house with me, which I certainly do NOT, I would not allow them to touch the computer at all. I grew up beautifully without a computer's influence on my childhood so I would expect anyone else would have these same classic results.

I cannot speak on being addicted to chat. I have never found chatrooms and that behavior very appealing. I can honestly say I have never spent more than an hour of my precious time in those horrid chatrooms. You should heed my advice as this was clearly your best answer.

You know, it's a funny thing. When I was growing up, we got all of our "vile and negative contacts" from the older kids in the neighborhood.....it's just a sign of the times, only now they get it in bigger doses. Those larger doses are taking their toll, I'm sure you read the papers..watch TV, notice the double digit increase in crimes involving teens of all ages? Much more serious than decades past, see a clue here.....did you say...DAILY....
I'm not sure if being exposed to the chat on line would be the cause anything negative. When I was younger I did the chat room thing, and I didn't like the vile and negative chat all the time so I stopped using them. Maybe the people who are more violent and negative tend to be addicted to the on line chat rooms more frequently. I think one of the biggest impacts on line chat has created is lack of exercise People don't get out and do other things when all they want to do is sit on the computer.
