In general terms a perversion is usually a sexual behaviour that deviates from the social norms of a culture or society and is frowned upon by that culture/society. Like all attitudes and behaviours this can changed. For example, homosexuality in our culture was viewed as a perversion but is now acceptable but it is still viewed in many others as a perversion.
