Do we need special circumstances to realise our creative potential or are we just lazy?
Answer:
..I don't know when it was that I realized my creative potential. After having met certain challenges by coming up with novel solutions, I began to realize that I had the ability to do this, that everyone does. And that it worked! Because of creative thinking and creative problem solving, I realized that you could create a solution that put you in a position far more advantageous than if the problem or disaster had never happened!
I believe you need inspiration and time to be creative. I am an Artist and Illustrator and find I need atleats a whole day (15hrs) and the inspiration to produce a decent piece of work. Sine my son was born in 2005 I find I never have the time to get stuck in to a piece of Art, an afternoon here, a morning there isn't enough.
Plus, as I'm a full time mum the inspiration isn't there either...sometimes my son is the only person I'll see for 2 days! Starting uni in Sept so I'll have more time to myself to be creative!
no. we just some lazy mo fos!! lol. but if you mean things like art and singing, well singing can be something you were born with, but true art, can be anything....
Yes.
anything is possible
I think you just need to keep an open mind, go out in life and experience things and then let whatever creativity automatically come out of you.
We never do anything unless pushed or made to do it.
I think yes, special circumstances are required because we are lazy!, 'let those who have eyes ( therefore can see), see; let those who have ears (therefore can hear), hear. If we cannot see or hear (the muggles!) we are asleep to the wonders available to or senses and unable to interpret events/signs accurately. The creativity and higher potential comes from an openess and acceptance of the sentient intelligence of the universe.
This creative potential can be released when we reach rock bottom and find ourselves asking 'What is life about, what more is there to life?' Equally it can happen when we are in a high state of ecstacy or a super high emotional state where we can just let go of the ego in a state of bliss and the channels open up.
It can happen doing mundane jobs like ironing or peeling potatoes, as well as meditation, it is just a letting go, but during the normal living routines, treadmill of job/activities and being trapped in a regular way of doing things (habitual behaviour) and a conviction that one understands the world, then it rarely happens, it is like the mind has locked itself into a pattern and that becomes the reality. When the pattern is shattered, or elevated there is a letting go that allows a transformation to take place.
Creative potential should not be confused with developing creative skills - which many can do if they are so motivated.
Many who 'try' to reach this potential fail because they are stressed on finding something they think they haven't got. It is a letting go, not a gaining of something.
Go create!
I think it just depends either on the person or the circumstance. A person can easily be inspired to do something and sometimes the circumstance forces them to.
I think that the real truth is that we are only lazy...If you really want something you can achieve it, supposed it's a realistic aim... There was a period in my life when I was always complaining abut life, which didn't give me what I expected, without beeing able to admit it was only my fault: I wasn't doing anything to achieve what I wanted...I realised that I suffered from a terrible disease: the complete lack of will and desire...Now tha I've solved my problems I can tell you that I've realised things that I didn't even think of being able to get...Be sure and all the world will be in your hands...
Many of the answers have hit the nail on the head - yes, we do need special circumstances to make us creative. Many times it may be a stress. But our best potential may not come out in that way. Giving it time helps. Mornings, especially after pondering the problem overnight helps, our subconscious works overtime. If you are inspired by dreams...well and good. Find what works best for you.
