Why are emotions and impulses so powerful?

That's one of those questions that's best to just accept what is and not spend too much energy trying to figure out why. Try to seek a balance between emotions and logic to arrive at the best conclusion. I always ask myself what a casual outside observer would have to say about a situation that I'm having problems with. That way, you can at least bring in a bit of objectivity and make a better decision.
It's because we're humans. We feel more than logically understand. If we didn't have any emotions, how would we show people what makes us sad, what hurts us, what angers us, what annoys us, or what makes us happy. We'd live in a boring life if all we did was reason with logic. That's what I think.

i fall in love with beautiful women when i see them, because my goal is to feel better about myself by having a partner everyone competes for
once i learned this about myself, i took "no" as refusal, not rejection, because apparently, beautiful women have the goal of being a partner with someone with a bit more depth than i am aparently capable of.
i'm gonna keep intervewing babes for the position until i find one whose goal it is to be stalked by a nit-wit like me
