I was practising meditation but I recently found I develop fear of things when I am alone. Why it is so?
Answer:
As Cathy G says, it is not at all uncommon during meditation practice to dredge up many ugly, uncomfortable, crazy thoughts especially from childhood. This is a usual and necessary part of sifting through all the mental baggage that our egos acquire over a lifetime.
Here is a recent quote from the Buddhist magazine "Tricycle"
You Are Completely Crazy
Somewhere in this process, you will come face to face with the sudden and shocking realization that you are completely crazy. Your mind is a shrieking, gibbering madhouse on wheels barreling pell-mell down the hill, utterly out of control and hopeless. No problem. You are not crazier than you were yesterday. You also are no crazier than anybody else around you. The real difference is that you have confronted the situation; they have not. So they still feel relatively comfortable. This does not mean that they are better off. Ignorance may be bliss, but it does not lead to Liberation. So don't let this realization unsettle you. It is a milestone actually, a sign of real progress. The very fact that you have looked at the problem straight in the eye means that you are on your way up and out of it.

perhaps practising meditation is bringing up some unpleasant thoughts/feelings/memories which you never looked into before, especially if you have a busy lifestyle
it's probably best to do meditation under the guidance of an experienced teacher, then you can get correct answers and directions
hope this helps
meet a good homoeopathic doctor, they have medicine for such problems too
Friend,
There may be some thing wrong in the way of your meditation.Consult a Guru or a person who really knows about meditation.
Meditation relaxes all your tensions. While doing so you may experience some ''jerk like thing''.That too for a few seconds only.
