What type of cynic are you...?
the one who revels in the bitter of past experiences; or the one who is pre-maturely disappointed?
Answer:
i am prematurely disappointed that i don't learn from my bitter past experiences... lol
neither...
I gain strength from bitter past experiences and I give the benefit of the doubt to new ones.
I don't like to think of myself as a cynic...but sometimes I've been viewed as such for being what I would call a "realist." I learn things from past experiences, and apply this knowledge to present and future situations, while taking into account differing variables...I look at all sides to an equation before I come up with my deductions. I don't know if that makes me a "cynic", or not. I'm not pessimistic, but at the same time, I'm aware of the dangers of wearing "rose colored glasses." I refuse to be blinded by them...lol!
I like to start out with the Murphy's Law in mind. Low expectations of pleasant results. That way, if everything does go wrong, I won't be disappointed because I anticipated it. But if everything goes great, hey ... pleasant surprise!
Is pessimism in here some where
cynic, sound like you are standing at a distance
I would say there is charity in my thoughts, but far to little
I'm a practical cynic. When I see, hear or sense B.S. I know it strongly and let people know it. A classical cynic sees bad in EVERYTHING. I'm not cynical about everything ... some people see only bad in EVERYTHING ... I like to look for the good. There is a lot of good in this world.
Yes, probably bad past experiences and the true cynic draws inaccurate inferences back to them. They are sad people to be pitied.
They are a crotchety and unpleasant lot ... nobody likes them.
Neither. I'm as optimistic as they come.
A little of both, actually.
