Stop worrying...?

A lot of books talk about to stop worry consistantly, you first need to accept whatever the worse outcome might be and then do something to change the course of the outcome. Well, it's easy to read and understand that, but how do you actually do it?

Answer:
I remind myself that there has not been a time when my worrying ever helped me cope with a situation. If anything, the worrying created false fears and distorted reality. Even truly bad situations are always better resolved by a clearheaded, calm, and confident approach.
I'm not saying this to be funny. Have you considered the possibility that you might have an anxiety disorder? Sometimes Xanax or other anti-anxiety meds will work, but you'd need to see a professional.
Other than that, thinking things through and then making good decisions can often keep you from worrying on the back end. Good luck.
I usually think that the worst possible outcome would be that I would die. Few experiences would end in death. Therefore, if I am going to live through an experience, chances are I may have an opportunity to try again even if I fail. Failure should be looked at as a learning experience. We don't learn very well from doing things right, but we can learn a lot from doing things wrong. So the worst that usually happens is that we learn what goes wrong when we do something one way and the next time we should try another way.
Always treat people well and do no harm. You will never have reason to regret what you did, even if it does not work out. Your intentions will always be good, and the people closest to you will recognize that. Talking it out with other people helps people to know what you intended and helps to iron out the kinks. Talk to people who think different to get opinions that would match yours and also oppose yours so that you know both sides.
When you feel a worry coming on, recognize it for what it is, a thought that something is going to happen.
Ask yourself, is this a reasonable way to react to this situation. Does the situation deserve your worry, or will the outcome probably be favorable.
Is there anything you can do to stop whatever might happen? Are you psychic? Are you to blame for situations beyond your control? Will it help the situation for you to worry?

I am a worrier, I ask these questions. I hope they help you. peace.
