that type of info is stored in your long term memory..and then ur long term memory is broken down into 2 additional types of memory...
semantic and eposodic
so ur birthday would be stored in your semantic memory,...(thats the part of your memory where facts are stored)
and your episodic memory -is the memories stored according to the time which they occured in ur life
identifying where a piece of knowledge is stored is not that easy. but if you are willing to let them hook electrodes to your brain, they can ID some places that some facts are stored. really.
Somewhere in the corner of your brain. :-) Data storage in the brain can not be pinpointed.
I haven't a clue 'where', but I know it's stored alright.
One of the bonus's of growing old is this accumulation of subliminal knowledge. There are occasions where information and judgement leap into one's head just in time to deal with either situations judged as 'tricky' and people 'unreliable', but with no evidence to prove it. So far, I notice that so long the issues are similar or about distinctive types, then what I need is instantly available. I suspect this is common because I was never a quantum mechanic.
Oh that has to do with long term memory (LTM) which can be found in the cerebellum and amygdala parts of the brain
