To be unique?

What makes someone unique? Is it their sense of style? Their personality? Someone said that trying to be unique means that you're trying too hard to stand out...

How can you be unique without trying?

What's your definition of being unique?

Answer:
Everyone is unique because there isn't anyone else in the world exactly like us. So in that respect, just being is unique.

Whoever it was that said someone's trying too hard to stand out, is probably just uncomfortable having a friend labeled as unique, or is afraid of losing a friend who is tired of living a mediocre life. This person is like many of the people, they live "in the box", and want everyone to live the same way. It is as though we are sheep, and it's more comfortable that none of the herd excel.

There is nothing wrong with being outstanding in your life, that is the only way humanity flourishes. It is important that some people can live beyond the boundaries of the box! It
may be difficult to be labled as unique ... because so many associate unique with strange. But, in truth, there is also a hint of jealousy for those who are willing to live their life as they want.

If this is you... embrace your unique qualities. For the good of the world.
peace.
If you need to ask for help in order to be unique, you're not unique.
um your unique by not following the crowd , by living to the beat of you own drum!
well ppl always say just be urself and the ppl that likes who u r will think u r unique or something
those r all bullsh!t
well my definition of unique is special different better than most of the ppl
stands out becuz u r good at something have somethign that makes other ppl look up to u
everyone's unique in different ways. trying to be someone else's not unique
Unique means phenomenal. It means your are not usual. people who try hard to be unique doesn't make sense, because you can't try to be unique. You were born that way.

Unless you try to dress uniquely, of course, but you do not have to try hard to be unique; all you need to do is do unusual things. That's all.
oh boy! trying to be unique usually means you are being fake or that you are trying to be someone you are not..being unique is really just the fact that you were born as your self..you are the only one who looks like you, walks like you, talks like you, thinks like you, smells like you and everything else so just do what comes natural for you and that in its self is unique
You cant try too hard to be uniqe. However everybody is uniqe with uniqe thoughts. To be your own person comes form within, not what u look like on the outside!
You know, being unique isn't all that great. I've been told I'm unique, different, weird, unusual, etc. and I'm sure it has a lot to do with the way I think, how I was raised, my appearance, how I view the world and various other things. I have a difficult time fitting in, long term, and as much as people say they like different/unique, most people would rather stick with simple and familiar things.

If you still want to "try" to be unique, the best way is to think creatively. Think out of the box.
This reminds me of a quote: You are unique, just like everyone else.

If you're actually trying to be unique, you're failing miserably. That's what everyone does. To be unique is to be yourself, no matter what others think of you. If you like to wear black and look Gothic, but not for the sake of being Goth, you're on the right track. If you deck yourself out in spikes, dye your hair black, wear black makeup, and force yourself to frown alot, you're just doing what you think is required, and that's what most people do.

I hope that made sense. Very little I ever say actually does.
being unique
That's always a strange question, in my opinion. What does it matter if you are unique? If someone comes up to you and says "Hey, you're just like this other friend I have" are you compulsed to go out and change?

What's important is just be yourself. It doesn't matter whether others are like or unlike you. If you like who you are and are comfortable with it, who cares if it is unique?

Personally, I'd love to meet someone just like me, cause then I know they have impeccable taste. ;)

See where I'm going with this? Stop listening to nobodies and realize we all have gifts that come *natural* to us.
