in your question you have the key: its your parade. No one has any power to bring rain into it, unless you give them that power.
Do not ignore people that could 'bring you down from your cloud', instead try to discover what is there inside you that allows them to shake your grounds. In fact, as an exercise, pay special attention when they speak, but put the attention inwards, seek the switch inside yourself, for it is a switch inside yourself that sets the change. Once you know what it is, you will be 3/4 of the way to make that switch disappear.
Try it, you might discover a few things, and end up laughing at which used to make you feel bad.
Ignore them,unless you are doing stupid stuff that they are trying to save you from!
