Do you really think that we have the ability to create our own reality?? The Secret?
Answer:
we have been creating and shaping it since we were first born. Note that every single person has a unique view of reality, it might seem the same when they explain; but if you really experience it through another person's body you'll know its different.
Unfortunately once you create, its very difficult to change or re-create reality. Reality is 'altered' most of the time when a person goes through mental failure. Reality is held together in place by many cognitive mechanisms of the brain such as logic, reasoning, consciousness and experience.
When you lose consciousness or are asleep, you can easily re-create reality and mold it in any way you want. But it is so difficult to do this once you are awake and conscious.
Reality is also altered when you are taking hallucinogen drugs that release normal brain control over visual cortex, memory centers and other areas of the brain.
Punchline, if you're sane, awake, sober and logical; you can't change reality, its fixed as what you created it when you were born.
Of course. The secret is to visualise what you want, believe that you will get it, and direct all your thoughts and actions towards achieving it.
The idea that thoughts shape reality isn't new - this is just this decade's iteration of it. The previous decade's was The Celestine Prophecy. All of them are founded on the optimistic viewpoint that what we think attracts what we think about, so if we only think about positive things then only positive things will happen. All this is true, up to a point, but only because of our perception of things. If we're focused on good things, then the good things are what we'll notice and that will serve as confirmation of our ideology. We'll tend to dismiss the negative things as being little hiccups on our road to happiness. If, however, we focus on the negative things then the good things are the aberration and the negative merely confirm our belief that our lives are bad.
Granted, there may be instances where having an optimistic attitude won't do you a lot of good, other than being its own reward. But you could do worse than going through life looking for fulfillment. I'm chronically optimistic, myself.
We certainly have the ability to create our focus and attitude. I know people who look only for the bad and of course they find it always--but they ignore most of what is good around them--even if I try to point it out, the reply will be something like "That wasn't important" or "that was just a coincidence" The worst person about that, the one I'm thinking of, now has heart problems. Often I wonder, if she had had a better attitude and outlook, would her heart be doing better?
Other people look for the good. And they find that.
Many Christians look for the touch of God everyday and in every way, praying for it, and it is often that they find that and feel God in their lives. Non-believers can't and won't see it at all, even when it is pointed out to them. It is only foolishness to them, they are blind to it.
We see everything through the glasses and blinders that we wear--we need to clean our lenses and move our blinders!
