Too scared to go to a costume party?
Answer:
Sounds to me as though you have an anxiety disorder. People with generalized anxiety disorder (GAD) go through the day filled with exaggerated worry and tension, even though there is little or nothing to provoke it. Anxiety disorders aren't just a case of "nerves." They are illnesses, often related to the biological makeup and life experiences of the individual, and they frequently run in families. There are several types of anxiety disorders, each with its own distinct features. An anxiety disorder may make you feel anxious most of the time, without any apparent reason. Or the anxious feelings may be so uncomfortable that to avoid them you may stop some everyday activities. Or you may have occasional bouts of anxiety so intense they terrify and immobilize you. Try to get help. Find a counselor and psychiatrist and try to get on medication. With help you will be able to overcome your fears. Check out these websites...

go with a friend its fun to put together a costume and go to a party with someone.it only sucks when you have to do it alone.
Well to me it seems your normal.
Everyone is a bit shy, some more then others.
I am also very shy, and if i was invited I would be frantically pacing around, worrying about what I would look like, or who would be there.
Sometimes you just have to go with the flow, let things go how they may and be yourself, because if your being someone you aren't, that is just another thing you'll be worrying about.
hmm.social anxiety!
