Can someone help me cheer up?
I am tired of complaining will someone help me stop. I have to go to school everyday but we really aren't doing much in class since it's close to the end of the school year and this annoys me so much. It's so boring,I have nothing to do but sit around and complain to my parents when I am home.I'm bored at home and I feel as though I am going to have a terrible summer and 10th grade school year.also I feel as though people are getting tired of seeing me and I am getting tired of being around.I wish i wasn't in high school and i was some where else,I'm really not happy with myself.Anyone have any advice to try and make me feel better.
Answer:
I can't cheer you up, but you can. One good way to cheer up is to find something you believe in, and then do something about it, even if it is something small. If you really love music, make some music. If you think ham sandwiches are gross, boycott ham sandwiches. If you think people are mean, be nice to someone who is mean, or better yet be nice to someone that most people are mean to like a homeless person. Its up to you.
Talk to your teacher, or start planning things down for the summer while you have nothing to do, and do these things with your friends.
just listen to some music dude. im goin through this same stuff right now. it sucks haha
well just try to be around people that will make you happier. i know how you feel exactly because i am in that exact situation. the important thing for now is to study for your finals. once summer comes you will be able to relax and have fun. just do what you enjoy doing and be with the people that you want to be with until school is over. then you can really party!
After you brushed up your resume and found that summer job and you still want something to do? Want to get over being bored? Get interested in something. Find something that interests you (chess, quilting, barn building) and read all you can on it. Challenge yourself to complete a project in a specific length of time (learn chess in three weeks - make a complete quilt - hand stitched - in three months - build a barn in, well, I don't know how long that would take but that's what you'll find out). Go to the library - there's no end to the stuff you can do.
Don't forget to quit complaining - although it's hard to complain when you are too busy doing something interesting.
Maybe you are feeling a little bit sorry for yourself. The more you complain and feel sorry for yourself.the worse you will feel. Do something nice for someone, for "no reason at all", think about others feelings, instead of just focusing on...YOU..YOU...YOU. If you say "you are going to have a terrible summer", you will have, because you "choose" to. Now, stop it.go have some fun.freak your parents out by doing something nice for them..you'll like it !!
I know what you're feeling, and I know it's no fun. If you are getting terribly bored and dreading the summer, why not try a part time job? Or if you aren't old enough to work, you could try some volunteer stuff, like working with an animal shelter, or maybe going and visiting people in a rest home. It may not sound like much fun, but you will be appreciated, and that will probably make it fun for you. If you like the idea of getting paid better, I'm sure you could find some babysitting jobs, which can be really fun if the kids aren't brats, lol. If you stay busy and are helping people out, I can promise you that you will start to feel better about yourself. :)
this helps me when I'm down . . .
think about what you DO have. You have a home, and parents, and an education, probably some friends. You have your health, a computer, a tv (?), access to books and movies, a bed and clothes. There's so many people out there who don't have these things - TRY to appreciate what you have.
And remember that things will change. Make a goal for the summer so you aren't sitting around dreading it. Sign up for a class (you sound like you like to learn). Work at a camp - you'll meet new people.
Since you are aware of what it is you are doing that does not work for you; I would suggest trying to find a hobby that you like and learn something positive to do with it. You could do volunteer work and it does not have to be boring. You could certainly entertain yourself by entertaining others like seniors, or some kind of organization that would be happy to welcome you in their group. You would meet new people, you would get interested in something different, you would feel good about yourself and you would forget about boredom because you would have something to occupy your mind and your hands.
This is the best suggestion I can give you. It does work.
Good luck.
Happiness is a matter of personnal choice dear heart.
so does posting here help at all? I think youdo need to have something to feel purposeful about to be relieved from depression or boredom...I like a lot of what others posted for you- I think if you do look around with fresh eyes you will see there are more things for you to be inspired by or interested in that will help you feel there is more out there if youjust stop to look...
another thought, check out the library for books & movies that will give you new projects or ideas of things to do- theyoften have free activities that aren't as geeky as you would think...
have a great week!
