Why do people believe everything they hear?
How can people be so gullible? They hear things or read things and believe them without even stopping to think how credible the source is or doing proper research.
Just seems a bit foolish to me.

Most people believe what they want to hear, it makes life easier I suppose. It's safer and less tiring than trying to make your own opininon by doing research & comparing sources of information.
they are not taught to think for themselves
partly due to too much regulation
partly due to no danger anywhere
partly due to curiosity not developed
it's not so much that people believe everything, but more that they believe the first thing they hear, so you then have to argue the opposite point, that's what annoys me. or that people believe what they want to hear.

2. too trusting
"How could it be wrong? Nobody would lie."
3. plain stupidity
4. trying to look smart

It s too easy for some people to just go with the flow. Believing what you hear or read is easier than thinking about it.
People believe what they want to believe. How else would you have people of one political party believing everything their party says and disbelieving everything the other party says. It happens in religion as well, or in racial matters as well. That is how life is.

bcoz they make it as a habit.only sometimes people think otherwise they believe as it is. it's one reason may be their mind openness & boldness.They do not want to give pressure on mind. lot's of people can not think about themself then how can they think about news from outside.
BUT when you see any elder they are more sincere and wise then younger and they evalute the news from theirself. (I think so).
