Why does everyone look for a partner that is like their parents?

My ex boyfriends were nothing like my Dad. My dad is a reserved man, he is very traditionalist, stubborn and controlling. I was in charge of the relationship when i had a boyfriend... it was the opposite.
Maybe because they want to be pampered like their parents. On the other side, It's unfair to your future partner because no one has the same character even identical twins.
People try to find partners that they can work out the problems they had when they were younger-sometimes they dont even realize this. That may be the reason they find partners like their mom or their dad.
