Do you work shift work, and does it interfere with normal everyday life?
Answer:
Yeah, it definitely bothers my sleep patterns. I normally work 1st shift (7am-3:30pm), but occasionally I will work 3rd shift (11pm-7:30am) if someone extra is needed. The times I have worked 3rd shift, I went home and went to bed and would wake up around 3-4pm because I couldn't stand staying in bed ALL day. It felt like it took 2-3 days to recover, just from working one night shift.
Yes, your sleep cycle will be disturbed, but only for one or two days.
Continuous, long-term shift changing can have deleterious effects on your health, however. Sleep disorders, such as insomnia, will be the first symptoms to appear.
If you work a weird shift for a long time you start living that shift as part of your life. If you work something like the all night shift you stay up all night on your nights off and sleep during the day like you do when you work. If it bothers you then you need to change jobs.
