Healthy!! Mentally and Physically...?

I want to get healthier, both mentally and physically. Lately things have just been all around crappy, and I want to get back on the right and "healthy" track in life. Any suggestions how to do this? And any SPECIFIC suggestions would be great! I've come to realize that the crap I eat and my lifestyle seems to directly effect my mood and my emotional/mental state, so I would like to get healthier all around. Any input is appreciated. Thanks!

Walking.

1) Walking is an inefficient mode of movement therefore burns calories. It's also free and it can get you places.

2) Walking alone gives you reflection time. Inspiring music and a walkman doesn't hurt.

3) Realistic goals. You won't learn to fly or save people from a sunken submarine. Trying to achieve the impossible will demotivate you.

4) Weight will fluctuate and plateux. Don;t panic if you gain a few ounces or you seem to stop losing wieght for two weeks. Water retention, normal body mechanisms and varied output will cause this. It's normal.

5) Don't starve. You body will aggressively try to conserve energy if you do and you'll become like a camel, each time trying to store more fat for the next predicted period of self inflicted famine.

6) Eat tasty stuff. Eating tasteless crap will demotivate you.
7) Just try modifying your current intake first. Like hamburgers? Try them without cheese or sauce first. Ask for flame grilled not fried. Don't upsize. Ask for water instead of coke.

8) Get a role model. Watch Gattaca, put up a poster of Lance Armstrong - find someone that inspires you and follow by example.

9) Don't weight yourself every day. Once a week at most.

10) Do it with a friend. Make sure though that you don't become each other's personal trainer though or you will feel pressured and demotivated.

11) Fibre.

12) Sex, apparently is the best form of exercise, it's free, motivating and fun. With someone you love, that is.
