What are the specific requirements for a Psychology major?

Answer:
It depends on where you go to school. Most programs will require (in addition to introductory psych) a course in research design, statistics, cognition, sensation/perception, abnormal, developmental, personality, and a few psych electives.

All of this in addition to any general ed requirements.

If you are considering a career in psychology be aware that most professional careers will require graduate training. One of the best things any undergraduate can do to help ensure acceptance into a grad program is to get involved in undergraduate research. I would suggest speaking to your department's faculty and see if any of the professors are looking for research assistants.

Often you can receive course credit for working in a lab. And if you're lucky you're professor may have grant funds and be willing to pay you to work. But either way, if you're planning on persuing a graduate degree do yourself a favor and spend some time working in a lab.
At the college level, it is some combination of general, clinical, experimental and abnormal psychology.
