How do you gain more self-control?

How do I gain more self-control when I'm with friends/people and when I'm alone by myself.

Don't get me wrong, I have lots of self-control, it's just that when I'm excited or feel lonely; I tend to say or do wierd things.

Some people use elastic bracelets to get rid of what they call inappropriate feelings. They wear them all the time, and every time they feel the urge to think of that feeling or act on it, they just pull the bracelet and let it snap back. Might seem harsh, but it works. The physical pain produced by the elastic makes your brain perceive signals differently. The brain will associate signals of pain with the situation that causes them, and awareness will make you see that feeling as the source of your pain. In time, the built up instinct of fear caused by pain will make the person detach him/herself from the source = feeling of lack of control..
it is always hard to gang control... try to think about what you do or say before you do it!

Just don't do so many weird things. Once in a while it's ok. Make sure you're really alone though.
i either meditate or do yoga or in public i stop and think about why i lost my self control it ussaly works
i think we all do weird things. i talk to myself sometimes. i don't think its unhealthy. But it's really mind over matter. If you can learn to control other things- eating or television or other simple things. just focus on what you want and what ur trying to acheive. If it's important enough to you then youll be able to do it. good luck

life is all about self control . but when the friends come into the equation , all hell breaks loose right. that is called peer pressure,
we have all been there ,drinking too much , undressing at the party . sleeping with strangers, however , my guess ,it all about choices ,and how they will affect our lifes?
maken the right ones, is the best way forward, when infact we lose self control , have we lost it all together, or just part time ?
