Can you learn how to be creative.?

No Bradley. One cannot learn how to be creative. You can learn how to copy, and copy well, you can learn how to be mediocre, and even do it well with practice but to be genuinely creative, Impossible. Either you've got it as a talent or you don't. Trust me, I've tried.:)

they can be taught to think out of the box. But thinking out of the box isn't something that can be shown. It isn't a pattern. It is doing something unusual..
In case of playing the piano a person can be taught to play a tune without getting the notes wrong. But composing a song of your own is creativity...
They can be taught to behave in ways that their society considers 'creative'. For example, you can be taught to paint like other people who are considered creative, and you will probably be considered creative yourself. A good example would be guys who grow their hair out, wear earrings and walk around with their pants around their knees. If you asked any one of them why they dressed like that, they probably say it was to be original or creative.
To be truly creative you need to do two things 1) Come up with something that no one else has ever come up with and 2) Have somebody, somewhere think it's creative. Many of history's most creative people (Vincent van Gogh, Beethoven, etc.) weren't considered creative in their own lifetime, but ended up changing the way people look at the world long after they passed away.
So to make a long answer short (too late), no one can teach you to be creative. They can only teach you what they know, and the creativity part is up to you.
