When you are irked by someone and physiologically your heart beats faster and pounding, how do you calm down?

How do you calm yourself down when you are just fuming mad? How do you not let people get to you?

Answer:
..Do two things...

1. Immediately walk away, slowly, taking several slow, deep breaths.

2. Shift your mental focus AWAY from the things that caused you to get mad. Think instead of logical courses of action, next steps that will lead to a maximum benefit for you. Think ahead about possible cause and effect, actions and consequences. In other words, instead of going straight to impulsive words or actions, think carefully about what will work best for you, before you say or do anything.

I didn't say it would be easy. But his will definitely help you calm down. And save you from the painful consequences of an impulsive, emotional reaction.
When your brain feels bunched up like a tense muscle, relax it like a tense muscle...and breathe.
