Pregnant with medication?
Answer:
You need to talk openly and honestly with your doctor.. People make mistakes and believe it or not your doc will understand. Just as long as you are trying to do better for the baby. I quit smoking, drinking and other things when I found out I was pregnant.. My body detoxed a little bit but my son is completely healthy.. and quitting as much healthier than continuing.. Congrats to you for putting your baby first..
Talk to your doctor! It may be a little embarassing, but running the risk of hurting your child is far worse. I just gave birth one month ago to a healthy baby boy. It's so much work, I can't imagine having a child with a disability. I don't know how people do it! Your doctor may suggest something that is safe during pregnancy to help you along with the detox. Best of luck!
Actually, those aren't narcotics--they are all either psychoactive meds or benzo sedatives.
You need to talk to your doctor about weaning you off of them slowly. My best friend smoked when she got pregnant, and her doctor told her quitting cold turkey would be harder on the baby than slowly weaning off.
You will probably have a rough pregnancy without your meds. I know some meds are approved for pregnant women, so you need to talk to your doc about that, as well. He or she will probably want you off the sedatives, as those can slow a baby's heart beat so much it stops working. However, while I know a lot about the various drugs involved, I don't know all the ramifications for pregnant women--talk to your doctor and share your concerns, both about the baby, and about your own mental state. He or she can advise you best.
Good luck.
Yes your concerns are VERY valid! However, do not depend on your own understanding of all of this. Go to your mental healthcare practitioner (clinic?) and explain all of this to them. They will give you the appropriate advice. Don't listen to the fools who tell you doctors are bad. They are there to help you.
Weaning yourself off of Prozac is very DANGEROUS if you don't know what you are doing. All of the other pharmaceuticals your taking makes me wonder why you decided to get pregnant. Not a good move for your baby! Call the clinic Monday (if they aren't open on weekends) to schedule an appointment ASAP. Don't go to the hospital ER that's for immediate emergencies only! However, this is some serious stuff girl! Don't fool around with this... handle it ASAP!
you shouldn't take prozac it can cause cancer you should try to take something natural like mugwort that is if you're not pregnant i don't know if you can or not, u should look all of these up and try to go natural.i don't know what they are ALL for so i can't tell you their replacements but if i knew i most likely could.
Get help and see your doc pronto. Detox from those drugs will have side effects and you do need to see your doc.
Go to your doctor as soon as possible. That's all I am going to say to you. You know, if you ever read your medication "adverse effects" what lithium can do. Or go to any website for lithium and read up on it. Please just see a doctor.
