Addiction and the movie; Mr. Brooks?

In Mr. Brooks, he says he has an "addiction." Of course, I can possibly believe that such an addiction MAY exist, or is this just "the movies?" But having an invisible friend, that is even in your car with you? I think that is a bit of stretch.

What do you think?

Answer:
Maybe he means that he believes himself to be addicted to communicating with an imaginary friend.
