Answer:
Hypochondria maybe, or an anxiety disorder. Chances are you need more exercise or sex, and need to spend more time in the sun.
Often people are afraid for no particular reason, (even though, you mentioned family member with illnesses, it doesn't mean you will contract the same illnesses.) I sometimes will be driving down the road, or sitting in my office, and for no reason a terrible thought will "pop" into my head. Such as my child being hurt, or the fact that I may get hurt. All humans have this problem. If we are strong, we can realize this is only our brain, helping us deal with the "fight or flight" response that all creatures are born with. It's nature's way of keeping us on the ready..."What IF I get hit by a car? What IF I get cancer? What if my child is hurt? What will I do in those cases? It's our brain's way of practicing for an emergency...but it's not really happening to us, at the moment. That doesn't make it less scary. The best thing you can do, is take a look at your Grandmother's lifestyle...was she a smoker? Did she take poor care of herself?? You have the knowledge to help yourself avoid the same paths as your relatives. Get with your doctor, and discuss your fears, eat healthily, exercise...DON'T SMOKE! Get healthy! Good luck!
By the way EVERYONE DIES
Talk to someone about it. They can usually find some one to help you feel more at ease, or they themselves might be able to help you. You probably don't have cancer. Look up on Google the probability and percentage of how many people have it. Not many. It's not likely to happen to anybody, but it does happen. Don't worry about it. If you did have cancer, would you want to spend the rest of your life worrying about it?
It sounds like you have ruminating thoughts. Thoughts that you keep thinking over and over. Psychology could call it being hypochondriacal. But if you are still getting these thoughts and it doesn't go away, with focusing on more happier things, keeping your mind occupied with other thoughts, whether it's talking to friends, going out, getting ready to go somewhere, singing along with music.
If you get checkups, and still feel that way, then it may be something you need to tell your doctor.
If all continues to fail, find a psychologist. If you can't afford it, most communities have mental health centers.
GOD BLESS YOU. I PRAY FOR SANITY TO COME YOUR WAY. SMILE SMILE SMILE.
