Answer:
Always remember that there is nothing you can not achieve if you really go for it.
Now is the time to go for it though. No more excuses about how bad things are as a reason you are not doing well, that just isn't going to cut it. You (and everyone out there) are able to do so much more than you really believe. What is needed is an "over the ramparts howling charge against life". Sure things may be tough, but sh*t, who said life would be easy. Its time to start controlling life instead of letting it control you.
There IS always hope.
The thing is, if you don't go for it, you'll never get out of the funk you're in. It's one thing being at the start of your dream (which is very exciting, by the way) at your age, than to be 30..or, God forbid, 40 years old and nowhere because you never took the plunge.
I once saw this show with a little old lady on it who was in her 90s and loving life. The host asked her what her secret was.she said..."No regrets." She elaborated that when an opportunity presented itself, she took it. She could look back on her life and not say, "What if I'd only done (such and such)."
Don't give up. I'm sure you've heard the phrase...
Quitters never win and winners never quit.
If not, there's a mantra for you.
Let me tell you another quick story. I wish I could remember this swimmer's name..maybe another poster will..It's about a female...when she was a child and in lessons and swim clubs, her parents were told she'd never make it...she didn't have the right body..no endurance, bad form...you name it. She didn't give up and she became a famous olympic medalist. Google around a bit and you'll find her...I wish I could remember the name.
Winners never quit.
Despite the odds.
You are correct in stating that you must begin now to keep up a 4.0 grade point average in your senior year. You may have to attend 1 year of community college and maintain that 4.0 grade point average, then you possibly could be accepted. You will never know for sure unless you try as hard as you can right now.
You just need to believe in yourself more. Stay strong. You can do what you want, you just need to take the first step. Stay calm as much as possible. Focus on what you want and forget about what people say. Try to read a book that's called 'Adventure Story'. It's a story actually, but it'll make your self-confidence increase. If there's anything you don't understand in the book, you can tell me. I almost memorised it. :)
my suggestion is try to balance out your home life.if your depressed talk to a professional about how you feel.do something for your self ?the arts, write a story,a poem, paint a picture,go jogging, help around the house cut the grass pick up trash in the yard, paint your room doing something that might change a view in your surroundings, volunteer.how you feel at home is how you feel.i left home when i was 18 thinking it would change my depression i moved to south Dakota well it was fine for a week or 2 then i felt how i had before i arrived.feeling blue is very common.take care of your blues!you are young, you can do anything you put your heart and mind to,so talk to your parents, someone you trust or a school counsel and tell them how you fell.communicate!your school year still hasn't began.take it easy!
The Community College nearest you is NOT the only one.
Do your first 2 years of college in a Community College, and get the grades. Then finish at the 4-year of your choice.
I'm not a college admissions person, so I don't know, but I would GUESS that mostly Cs, even if you do really well this last year, would get you in. (Though it's conceivable that they would note that you finally got serious your senior year, and take that into account.)
But that does NOT mean giving up on your dreams, it means a minor alteration in them.
It may take longer (well, WOULD take longer), but consider getting a job, moving out, and attending Community College part time.
OK. I think first of all you need to be realistic about your grades, it is unlikely that you will suddenly get extremely good grades. I think it is more realistic to set yourself realistic goals and work to improve you marks - you might surprise yourself. If you are constantly pessimistic you may be depressed, and this would definitely impact on your ability to concentrate, and your grades. See a counsellor to talk about this, you never know - it might just be the little extra thing that will help you get there. Good luck.
