Do you think hearing the radio adds negativity to your mental health?
or do you think it also depends on what you hear,,,
i mean come on..
hearing a song that claims that you will die without your ex 8 times a day...is not a good thing..and that's just an example...what do u think?
Answer:
I think you're right in thinking that the message matters. If all you listen to is music that tells you life is horrible, then you'll think life is horrible.
This is what is known as the availability heuristic. Basically, if all the information you surround yourself with points in a particular direction, then you're more apt to think things are truly that way. If all your music is happy and peppy all the time, then you're creating a predisposition for yourself to be a happy and peppy person... if the opposite is true, then the predisposition changes accordingly.
Them's my 2 cents.

I think it can. I hardly listen to the radio (unless I don't have my own music device) or watch television because most of the songs/programs are garbage.
I'd prefer to DL music or watch movies because I have more control over what I get to hear. Plus, you eliminate commercials and advertisements in which its main goal is to make people feel bad about themsevles so they will buy the product.
of course music affects your well being. its just vibrations and thats what humans are too. loud, angry music will make a person anxious and tense, while soothing music calms the savage beast.
