this is just a generalisation. i guess for some people who may have gone without things in the past when given the opportunity they may want the nicer things in life, i do know people like this, i also know black people who are not like this.

kinda cos they may feel like it's the best way to get respect as that was kinda how slaves where dominated back in the day by rich landowners etc so possibly they may think that if they are rich they not be so easily oppressed again.
saying that though maybe i'm wrong and it's just the shallow,yet more vocal, few who seem that way but most black folk may not care anymore than your average white about money.i'm afraid i don't have enough black friends to say one way or the other.

Where did you come to this conclusion. I think that everyone and anyone black, white etc has the ability to be humble and the ability to be greedy.
