What does racism actually truly acheive?

I have my own views on race/gender/religion/sexuality... non of which I believe to be derogatory. However I do not INFLICT my views on anyone as I do not wish to be offensive. Why do some people think it is acceptable to push their opinions on others?

Answer:
I actually like vocal racists, because at least I know who they are, and I know to stay away from them. It's better than finding out the nice woman you eat lunch with every day is married to the Grand Dragon of the KKK.
Nothing, it just helps us feel better about ourselves.
All of my prejudices are hard earned and well reasoned, I taught 'urban' youths for awhile.
Because it's important to point out some races are superior to others.
So they can prove their points and share their opinions for everyone listens to them. Mostly for attention.
For your first question: hatred. And, for your second question: Because some people are extremely rude, and disgusting.
They are insecure. But, how is your topic related to racism?
Because people who force their opinions on others think they are morally right. And racism proves nothing only the mantality of the person who is making racist remarks. And it also comes down to being learned behaviours from parents, friends and so on, from what they hear other people say so they will take on the opinion of that person. Because they don't have a belief system of their own and morals, so they judge others on their race, gender, religion, sexuality and colour of the person's skin.
i believe its just pure laziness on their part to sensor themselves.
I think that those people either think that its inconvenient to pay attention to something that is seemingly small in nature
or
that they think that their opinions have the potential to matter more than others by inflicting them on others.
It is a secret of the Magi Masons. It is to keep all the silly people in one group, the racists.
For everything there is a season.
Everyone has opinions. Not to meant to be offensive, but you claim to have none that you push on others, but the simple fact that you are singling out those who "push" their opinions shows that you are looking in your question to do the same. I believe that everyone has some preconceptions, right or wrong about different races, religions, genders.

Stupidly Hypothetical - if it was true to say that all brown haired men were terrorists, and this were true, would I be true to myself and to my fellow man not to warn them of the impending danger?

If you truly believe in something, and really own it as "gospel truth", can you honestly say that you would not assert your opinion in conversation.

Different people having different beliefs, fears and opinions makes this world as cool and crazy at the same time as it is.

In a nutshell though, racism achieves nothing - but it is impossible for it to be totally eradicated as we are dealing with human beings that are raised by parents with different backgrounds and also different life experiences that affect those beliefs and opinions.
All it does is start alot of useless **** and declares to the world that your shallow and narrow minded, unwise, shall i continue? I think it's about time people start realizing they ain't the only people out there that matter...makes me sick really.
I believe that racism does not achieve anything, except hate and hurt between people. We are all people no matter what color we are, no matter what religion etc. We all have feelings. Why can't everyone just live and let live as we are. The world would be a great place to live if everyone could accept everyone else as they are. No person is perfect, if they were they would be JESUS..
always easier to feel better about oneself if you can beat down and villify anyone who is different. helps those who are insecure gain a false sense of self-worth.

on the other hand racism does do one thing. it proves we can't always believe in those old words of wisdom we hear so frequently. case in point, ignorance (which is the foundation of racism) is not always bliss.
