Why does she do this?

my girlfriend wont do anything more than a quick kiss unless 1 of my hands is touching her lower back. i dont mean her bottom. i know a lot of her other girlfriends have treated her badly in the past but she's a really nice person and i really really like her. a lot. but why does she feel like that and why does she make me do that?

I wouldn't mind doing it, i just want to know why because i love her and care for her a lot. what is going through her mind when i kiss, etc with her? how does she feel about me? anything else?

STop asking yourself these questions, you need to ask her yourself. You know her well enough to know the right way to aske her without causinga fight or something, just ASK HER whats the worst that could happen? ALSo don't forget to tell her how you feel, and how much you love her and thats why you want to know whats going on, girls love it when you show them how much you care!

Ask her why - she's the only one that knows the reason.
