Good question, without imagination there would be no innovation. You need imagination to "think outside the box" there would be no wheel, no building, no exploration.
Yet I know people who are Dr.s in several subjects and certainly intelligent, who can't think, they can only really recall.
I go grammar school i am not very imaginative.

I would think so, Einstein did say that "imagination is more important than knowledge" which does seem right.
But you still need knowledge to get the logistics so I guess they are symbiotic.

i don't necessarily think there's a correlation. in science though, you can't apply intelligence without an imagination. that's why all the great scientists would also be very imaginative, but there are so many artists, musicians, and writer who may not be "intelligent" but still be imaginative.
I think it is a paradox
Albert Einstein sat on a bus in Ulm and imagined he was riding on a beam of light from this came his theory of relativity therfore no imagination no inteligence
what is intelligence? every person has it. there is not one person on the planet who does not posses some level of intelligence, even if they are unable to express it. imagination is a wonderful gift and should be encouraged and exercising the mind can raise intelligence. when we are children, we have imagination and we learn from it. without imagination, we learn nothing.

If you are intelligent then it is a good thing, but without imagination you can`t get out of the line to do something new, unique.
If you have them both it is great. I know cause I tend to raise my imagination to another level (by writting) and intelligence (by reading other books either literature or science, anatomy, astrology, psi... etc..)
If you have them both it is a gift. (imagination is a gift sometimes ..). If you have intelligence then you can go through life rich I gues... but if you have only imagination you will have big troubles in life.
