Nightmares Still Bothering me.?
Answer:
Talk to a school counselor. The anxiety you are experiencing is fairly common, and your counselor is trained to deal with things like this.
I know it's summer, and a counselor may be difficult to reach. It might be helpful to explain to your parents exactly what you told us, to let them know what kind of help you need to find.
In the mean time, I can assure you that the delusional spiders and weird things you father told you about (why?) are extreme reactions. It is far more likely that your body will eventually tell you that it's time to sleep.
(Oh, one other thing - if you drink a lot of caffeinated drinks or energy drinks STOP. Those things alone can keep you awake when you don't want to be.)
Why not try to think of good things when you want t o sleep?
i suggest you look for a good psychiatrist (it doesn't mean you're crazy or anything like that), or possibly go to your family doctor. tell them you're having anxiety problems (&, of course, precise examples of your dreams) & that they're preventing you from sleeping. you might consider counseling because often if you're dealing with memories, sometimes medication just doesn't cut it, although it's good to help you with the physical symptoms. hope this helps.
