Is alcohol the magic truth serum? How serious can we take the things people say when they're intoxicated?
I had gone out for a bit lastnight and when I got home around 8pm I found my boyfriend sitting at my kitchen table, drunk as can be. (He had been dropped off by a friend). I should say he's not a heavy drinker. I've known him longer than we've been together as a couple and this is the second time I've seen him that drunk. He's a fisherman and asked me if I would drive him home so he could go out on his boat to check a few things (he called a buddy to go with him). He kept asking if I was mad at him (which I wasn't, just concerned about what he wanted to do and I expressed that) and that if I was mad, it would be over.
I confronted him this morning about what he had said and he told me he didn't want to hear any more and gave me a big kiss and a hug.
Answer:
They say "in vino veritas",in wine the truth. I think especially because he isn't a heavy drinker what he said should be taken seriously. He dosen't sound like one of those glib, constant drinkers, that has the BS down pat. Sounds like he's afraid to let you see the real him. I believe you passed the test with flying colours!
